Yes it’s back. There is a new engine in place, along with a race weight flywheel and six puck un-sprung clutch. Beyond that… you should notice the gigantic 10″ wheels and 275’s are gone, in favour of some higher offset…
SW11
Ryan’s SW11. If you are confused about this seemingly wrong chassis code, then here’s the deal. This is an AW11 powered by a 3SGTE from an ST205 Celica. Consider it a sign of this cars purpose and intention. The stock 4AG, even in supercharged form, is still a motor that is primarily about aesthetics and feel. The AW11 is not a small car, and the stock 1.6 is hard pressed to keep up with Toyota’s renowned 2.0L… at least when dollars are considered.
With 275’s on all four corners, and a specialized suspension set up, this car hopes to be the fastest fendered solo 2 car in Calgary. Of course… it will be tested far beyond. As of 2010, this is a strictly trailer-ed car. Despite that, it maintains a full interior and many other amenities as mandated by solo rules. Future plans include new dampers and more weight reduction. We are approaching the limit of allowable modifications for SSM, and looking for new ways to make the car better.

Ryan’s season has been awful… and now it might even be over.
With plans to go south of the border often this year, a custom trailer was ordered from Rance Aluminum. Custom… but it arrived two months later than…

First the right side.
And the left side. Of all the things I’ve mentioned about Wendover, did I say that Ryan’s front dampers blew up? Can you tell?

Ryan still hasn’t returned from his trip to the states, so I haven’t had time to be de-briefed in detail… but via a short conversation he did present something that may be a problem with his current set up. It…
An Airport
Monday, May 17th, 2010
On Saturday, Ryan pulled the SW11 up to Edmonton for an ASA auto-x at Namao air base. This isn’t a venue I’ve ever been able to drive. I guess the three hour drive has been a deterrent, but…

yah. There is a piece missing. That pretty much confirms Mr. 3SGTE ate something he shouldn’t have. The important detail of the compression test was cylinder 1 being about 60psi under 2-3-4. Time for a new heart. Shoaib at
