I gotta say, I’m still reeling with all that has gone on and continues to go on in Japan. For the most part my family over there is as well as any. We have educated friends who are involved in the clean up and very interested in how things are being displayed internationally, and we have friends who were in the impacted area and are looking for new places to live. Watching what is going on, and talking with our friends there has almost been our primary occupation for the past week. My wife is tough… but I’ve been softer than Dwyane Wade.
To all those wannabe Hashirya and real Hashirya in great shock and sorrow that Ebisu is torn up or March Idlers was canceled, planning your trips to Japan to drive the steam roller with Kumakubo… STOP. Motorsports will look after itself, and now is helping to look after the rest. If you have so much interest, I hope that you will do the same.
If you want to send money however… the above website is probably not the best way for international residents, as banking fees are quite high. We used Red Cross. Calgary residents might consider stopping in at a fund-raising service at the Calgary Japanese Community Association, 2236-29th Street, S.W. on Saturday the 19th from 9am-5pm.
