Old throttle body, and new compact throttle body. They are actually the same thing, I’ve just removed the IACV and replaced it with a small aluminum plate. Coincidently, I got the idea to do this a long time ago, from Charmant4AGE, someone who just recently commented on [QR]GaraGe.
For whatever reason, I was actually having problems with the idle after turbocharging the car. We’ll see if this fixes it… If not, at least I’ve shaved a few hundred grams and a decent amount of clutter. Part of me really wants to go hardcore when cleaning up and simplifying all that is in the engine bay. It really was starting to look pretty clean before turbocharging… and I feel like offsetting that mess by doing things like: creating a semi-tucked harness to go with my MS ECU, pulling my heater core and making custom coolant lines.
lol.. glad to be of help! good thing you use the proper plate thickness. you get a link also.
yah. It’s thick… but it made me too lazy to cut it out nice like you.
Hey I did that once except I drilled it out and added a couple nipples (they come in pairs 😉 ) then used a gze abv solenoid for fast idle which I controlled with a switch on the dash. It only raised the idle about 400 rpm.
