OMGI bought our tenth AE86 tonight. I've been shopping for a car for a couple months now. My plan all along has been to buy a car that I could drive early this season if for whatever reason our turbo project ran late. This new car doesn't fit with that plan, as it's a big project. That said, I'm very happy to give that up. This is the nicest AE86 body I've every seen. Furthermore, it is IMO, the ideal body type. It's a zenkei coupe with a hard top... just like our turbo project. While the current car still has a great chassis, this new one has original paint, only 126k km on it, four spot free shock towers and spot free rear pockets. The only notable rust is a patch a small patch on the drivers side fender, and a few rock chips on the roof and passenger door. [...]

My Tenth AE86 Purchased

After spending 35 hours at a the World of Wheels this weekend, I am beyond burnt out. I have pushed myself to a physical breaking point before, but this time, through a diet of Boston Pizza take out, Bishop brand trail mix, and various fresh fruits, my body endured and I am experiencing something new. Delusion, grandeur, confusion, insanity. I […]

World of Wheels

Fifteen degrees outside today… it smells like summer. We’ve been gearing up hard over the past few weeks for the upcoming Angle Factory season. Helping accommodate all that planning: I’ve been enjoying a brief intermission from work after things dried up completely at my winter job. Furthermore, my girlfriend, who I happily lend quite a bit of my time (despite […]

… and Seam Sealer

Warren, came by last night to help us with some welding in the engine bay of the 86. If you've never talked to me about our car, you wouldn't know that we have begun to experience the rapid chassis deterioration in AE86 so often talked about, but seldom corrected. There are various seams all over our car that have begun to separate. Specifically, in the engine bay, the junction of the frame rail and the bulkhead, a couple places on the strut tower, under fender, and the lower rad support. To prolong the life of our AE86 and add some chassis stiffness, we have added over 120 welds in the engine bay. The rear half of the chassis comes next, with focus on the rear shocks towers, and panhard rod pick up. Check out last nights pics. Thanks again Warren![...]
