Hit -40 degrees Celsius at our rural home. Sick. I like the winter car life… but everyone just struggles to survive when it’s like this. The roads reach a whole new condition… -10, -20degrees, somehow the road surface is much more consistent. Now though… feels like danger. Grip slip, grip slip. What looks like cleared asphalt is thin ice. For […]

Calgary is Cold

StubbyCNAC 2003 was our first taste of real driving competition. Up to that point, I had been doing local auto-x for three years, and Ryan maybe six. I say real competition, because, the local events were always really friendly. Sure, we all wanted to win, but we were all nice and friendly about it. That changed with a national championship on the line. Not that everyone threw such things out the window... Darryl Jones, and Chris Chu were two fellow CSP drivers who we figured would be our biggest challenges. Darryl was from Red Deer, and we'd seen him from time to time in past years at local events in his FB RX7. Chris brought his ITB equipped NA6 Miata from Vancouver where he was the dominant fendered car. A number of other [...]

Cheating at CNAC 2003

Quick idea for the AW11. I should give it a chance before I decide to just make it pretty and sell it. Despite it needing tonnes of little things, it’s really in OK shape. My original budget for this car was $3000… and now I think I should operate on even less. So far I’m about $1400 in, with the […]

Boroi AW11 Planning

Started wrenching on the AW again. I like that car. It’s starting to look good… for an AW. I’ll tell you a secret… maybe you already know it… actually… I think everybody knows it, they just don’t realize it. Any car can look good with the right wheels. Actually… I should change that… any car can look good with the […]

More Nan-demo

Ten days before I go back to work. I can’t believe we barely did anything on my two month holiday. I guess that’s what Christmas is largely about. I’m going to try and update this site in that time. I’m not sure what that really means. I don’t want to change things too much. Did you know, that if you […]

Oh this hurts… there is so much snow on the ground… and we’re not going to be at the auto-x tomorrow. On top of the mystery clunk and vibration, Andrews clutch is now slipping hard… and… although that’s not reason a reason not to go… all things combined, and all the time we’ve spent lying on our backs and huddling […]
