The more I think about it… the ae86 has to go. I’ve got to buy furniture, house wares, a car for wife, a honeymoon, more gold… and on and on and on…

I’ve got a busy summer ahead.

So with selling the 86 in mind… I start thinking about something to replace it with. Something CHEAP. I’m talking an all in build, start to finish for a couple grand. Yah… I want to build a whole car for what you spent on your wheels and tires. Maybe it’s a crazy dream…

Auto-x has all but died here… and… well… Japan sold me hard on drifting. Actually… one night on the Kakegawa touge sold me on drifting. Masaharu and his friends sold me on doing things cheap… boro boro style.

So… I have a couple of crazy ideas. Maybe only one of them has any really merit in affordability, drivability and driftability…. and even it forces some serious compromises. But it’d be fun to be different again, and the idea of such a project excites me, and doesn’t leave me with a bunch of complicated problems like turbo manifolds and wiring harnesses etc etc.

Straight up bolt on.

I won’t say what it might be… but I will say that I don’t think… even the abundance of FF drifters I saw in Japan will ever convince me that FF drifting is a righteous thing. Minds change though.

Right now though… I still have a car to sell, and a wedding to plan, and married life to figure out… so anything new is a distant dream.
