Browsing Japanese sites, distracts me from my goal… and that is an all weather capable AW11. Looking at low cars with tiny sidewalls, and ground scraping bumpers is not a good idea… these things are not practical even if they are really appealing.

I need to think about turbine style OZ wheels, gravel tires, fog lights and mudflaps…
Just because it’s fun… not because it’s cool… or fast… or a winning way.
Thinking about these things, my browsing around has led me to spring rates of 200lb/in front and 250 lb/in rear. This is perhaps a little stiff by rally standards, but… since I’m not actually doing any rally, just rally-x and individual exploring, I think it’ll be a fair compromise that will be tolerable on the asphalt too. Ride height will probably be only slightly lower than stock with a simple coilover set up, just because a really long spring is required to escape coil bind. I have an idea that will allow me a little bit lower ride height though without compromising travel… but I’m not sure how practical it is.
