It dumped a bucket of snow last night. Must’ve been like 30cm worth. My travels today took me a short distance out of the city, where I stumbled upon unplowed roads. I never made it to my final destination, because I got sidetracked and ran out of gas.
Today has me feeling like the RNN14 is definitely the best car I’ve ever owned. I don’t know how it would be in the summer, but on days like today, it’s unimaginably good. I can’t believe it took me this long to find a 4wd car. I’ll admit, my first few attempts at fun driving in this car were a complete failure. I’m not sure why things have changed… maybe I had been applying my rwd techniques too much? Today was cake though…
Saw at the wheel to find the limit. Fix understeer by feeding in gas. It takes patience, but look ahead and anticipate how much road you have. It will come around. If you run out of time, grab the hand brake and then get back on the gas. Don’t take your hands off the wheel. You don’t have to turn very far in or out. Work the soft springs, transfer the weight and accelerate, accelerate, accelerate.
Snow is forgiving and fun… it’s true. But I could never control speed so well before. Somehow, it comes out with all the traits of rwd that I love, yet it never leaves me wondering if I can keep it on the road. What a car.
