Quick idea for the AW11. I should give it a chance before I decide to just make it pretty and sell it. Despite it needing tonnes of little things, it’s really in OK shape. My original budget for this car was $3000… and now I think I should operate on even less. So far I’m about $1400 in, with the LSD. Final goal will be a nice street car that is auto-x, and rally-x capable. In addition, Andrew wants to do solo 1… and I don’t want to see him use the Legacy for that so…
Brief shopping list therefore… for the AW looks like this…
- front coilover sleeve, perches and springs
- better brake pads
- front lip
- lots of bushings
- door hinge
- brake line clips
- better rubber
- fog lamps
Simple, and not expensive at all. I’ll throw in my old East Bear seats, Nardi wheel, and Greddy shift knob. New deck would be nice too… but that fits in the category with a bunch of other stuff I’d like to change, but will wait on. I won’t paint it yet either… just finish with the por-15 and spray bomb the new panels. Spring rates will be in the neighborhood of 200-300lb/in, to keep things manageable year round. Brake Pads will be Hawk HPplus or EBC yellow. Battery will go back to the original place, I want the storage area up front, and I’m not interested in moving weight bias closer to 50/50. Throw the LSD in… done.
