Nandemo. Spaced out wife just says, “whatever.”

A magazine devoted entirely to shoes could be sweet… but this special issue of Secret Street only has like three interesting pages. The rest of it is garbage for your neighbors 300C. My love for wheels demanded that I purchase it, but you should not. Makes me regret that I’m spending $$ on important things like engines. I’d rather be […]
Save Your Money

One of these days, when the world has no longer original ideas and when all the original creators of designs are gone, and all we have left is less expensive, inferior alternatives for classic designs, I will shoot myself. -Motohide Miwa I’m not the only one, and I do have good company.
One More To Cross Off The List

Well… not quite, but I’m going to look into it. The truth is… our RAV-4 is actually gross. It’s more gutless than our Echo even… and it’s not actually getting great gas mileage. 480km on 50Liters is worse than 10L/100km. The Echo surprisingly… uses about 30% less. But more than that… I’ve been frustrated over and over again, finding time […]
Abandon Ship

It used to be the case that all the Japanese hachiroku drivers I knew, scoffed at anyone who needed forced induction or more displacement. It seems that now more displacement is acceptable. This is Masaharu’s response to hearing that I’m turbocharging my car. Somewhere along the way I decided that I don’t like the Beams motor… I did consider a […]
Masaharu Beams

I’ve been waiting a long time to view the Japanese documentary “Senna” produced more than a year ago and it looks like there are finally quality versions of it online. There are currently no plans to release it in North America, so gobble gobble gobble!! Find a torrent HERE. I’m hosting corresponding English SUBTITLES HERE. Drag the unzipped .srt subtitle […]
Senna (2010)

I’m a monkey again and that means I have to drive to work everyday. My wife’s uncles are all higher up’s at Toyota in Japan… meaning my wife is a big fan and I have a good excuse, but more than that… since the persecution of Toyota by the American government, I have decided to do all that I can […]

I dunno… a sport cute for you? Kinda has estrogen all over it.
nah. My other car is a Corolla.
I’ve been considering one of those for a winter vehicle, the 3 winters that I’ve been driving the JCE10 has taken a toll on rust (looks like an AE86 now 😛 plus it also originated from Ontario so that’s probably why). But those MK1 RAV4’s are still pretty pricey for my budget… most of them I noticed still go for $5000+ and that is quite pricey for my broke broke ass. 🙁
I think you should. It’s pretty fun to drive. It’s an auto, because Yoshiko doesn’t like manuals, and even more gutless than our Echo when the transmission is in Economy mode. OK otherwise. Interior is really nice, and reminds me of my Pulsar, with fun fabrics and upright driving position. We paid $2000, it is a 1998 with 250k km on it, but is really quite clean and doesn’t seem to need anything other than a lid for the washer fluid reservoir… and tires.
At least it’s a first gen. I looked at one of those once (and then bought a ’97 OBS instead), and was impressed with the interior quality, and clever packaging/layout. Good economy.
Economy mode, eh? Just like my FX16 had. Good ol’ Toyota.
Outback Sport is something we considered as well. Maybe in the end I’m actually not a fan of the EJ motor??? Because it’s the only motor I’ve ever killed???
