OMGI bought our tenth AE86 tonight. I've been shopping for a car for a couple months now. My plan all along has been to buy a car that I could drive early this season if for whatever reason our turbo project ran late. This new car doesn't fit with that plan, as it's a big project. That said, I'm very happy to give that up. This is the nicest AE86 body I've every seen. Furthermore, it is IMO, the ideal body type. It's a zenkei coupe with a hard top... just like our turbo project. While the current car still has a great chassis, this new one has original paint, only 126k km on it, four spot free shock towers and spot free rear pockets. The only notable rust is a patch a small patch on the drivers side fender, and a few rock chips on the roof and passenger door. [...]

My Tenth AE86 Purchased

I have pushed myself to a physical breaking point before, but this time, through a diet of Boston Pizza take out, Bishop brand trail mix, and various fresh fruits, my body endured and I am experiencing something new. Delusion, grandeur, confusion, insanity. I […]

… It’s mid January. There are about 3 months until season starts, and we haven’t done a thing. The car sits in exactly the same spot. I don’t want to talk about it. My daily driver has proven to be cursed. Things keep breaking, freak occurrences leave me stranded on the highway, and ordered parts show up… as the wrong […]

I’ve already gotten a couple wtf emails in response to my last entry, telling me I can’t drift a FF car. Whether it is possible or not to drift FF, I don’t really care. I guess I wasn’t clear. My objective is not to drift my FF car all winter long, but rather to learn to drive around the inherent […]

My Driving Theory

Lessons in winter driving. In Calgary now, winter is deep into beginning and as a result the snow and ice which sits on the roads all season long is beginning to accumulate. For those of us enthusiastic about driving, this means everyday opportunity to practice and evaluate various driving techniques. At least, that’s how I view it. It was after […]
