Nandemo. Spaced out wife just says, “whatever.”

Unlike road racers, auto-xers are a friendly bunch most of the time… until national titles are on the line. My CAC experiences are already tainted from my experiences twelve years ago. 12!!! Put some money on the line as well though, and there are sure to be some weenies inspecting cars with micrometer and magnifying glass. I just hope I […]

A video trailer for a book is an interesting idea, and it fails miserably here. I saw this trailer for Garth Stein’s “The Art of Racing in the Rain” in 2008 and thought to myself… WTF? Seven years later, after professional race car drivers and office ladies alike have recommended the book to me, I’ve finally made the purchase and […]

The Art of Racing in the Rain

I’ve got my eyes on Ryan (the R part) and his co-driver C. Withell who are in Lincoln this week for the SCCA Solo II Spring Nationals. Both guys have had what I would call decent success in past National Tour and Pro Solo events, and after they out PAXed me last weekend at a local event, I’m looking for […]

We do cars all the time. My six year old may not know all her cars, but she knows her Subaru’s. Purple, like Mom’s is her favourite colour. She does also, seem to know what a splitter is. My three year old, the other day, was lying on the floor underneath of her tricycle with a kitchen spoon trying to […]

The 5×100 wheel market is not destined for development. I expect that the ZN6/ZC6 will be dead by 2017, and if something replaces it, then like the new WRX it will likely be 5×114. I find the current 5×100 offerings quite boring, so I sketched up a modified version of my favourite wheel of all time. I’m doubtful producing such […]

Actually 58.407. Speaking of FA20 development, when TRD Japan builds a car, they do it right. There is no turbo and the transmission is a re-geared stock unit (Aisin AZ6). This is a built 86 that makes you proud of your purchase, rather than regret that you didn’t instead buy a 911, 370Z, or Focus ST… This FA20 uses in […]

    The part where you said:
“when TRD Japan builds a car, they do it right”

Kind of reminds me of what Orido said (according to the subtitles) on this clip http://youtu.be/8DbtM7Fewos
He said about the TRD Altezza:

“If you just looked at the price tag, it maybe a little pricey, but it’s highly engineered, so it’s worth it. Just pick out the parts you like and make your own special Altezza, it’ll be fun.”

As he said, TRD parts are a little pricey but I’m sure it won’t be anywhere near the same price tag as that $70K 2.4L V8. So maybe with that Griffon concept, the future looks bright for NA 86 owners like you. 😉
