Decaled Up

stickers1Today I realized how my car has actually gotten faster. It wasn’t the injectors or the 02 sensor… it was the stickers. At the beginning of the season the car was naked, and I’ve been doing my best to resist, but it’s slowly collecting vinyl and plastic.

The one on top, if you don’t read Japanese, says Carland.  Carland was the first AE86 specialty shop in Japan that I ever visited.  If you ever get a chance to visit, they’re not much into ドリ車(drift cars) but they are huge into restorations and all the little quirky things that have made these cars something special in years past.  — who runs the place is a major asshole, at least to super excited gaijin, but if I’m ever rich he’s a guy who can build me a car.

The bottom sticker came from a friend in Japan, courtesy an August 6th meet.  Since Alexi featured it on NoriYaro, I thought I’d better put it on my car to show you all how hip and JDM I am.  The top reads Hachiroku Damashii, and is translated below as AE86 SOUL.

leeAnd this is ロークリー, full of youthful exuberance, big dreams, and a “genius of hardwork.”  I won’t bore you too much with my world view, but Rock Lee is pretty much the master of my universe.  I also think that AE86 life is well characterized by him, and have confidence that he’s the reason why I throw down 124 while your pullied AW11SC makes 129.
