Oh this hurts… there is so much snow on the ground… and we’re not going to be at the auto-x tomorrow. On top of the mystery clunk and vibration, Andrews clutch is now slipping hard… and… although that’s not reason a reason not to go… all things combined, and all the time we’ve spent lying on our backs and huddling around propane heaters… it feels like we should be waiting.
But Andrew gets to go attack snowy roads on his own time…
I get to sit in front of a computer and bitch.
I’m falling hard for Subaru’s. I think 80% of it is just the sounds they make… So agrarian and tough, but somehow sports car like too. My time at Techworks Engineering last year, definitely taught me to love for these cars… although it also created serious disdain for the average Subaru enthusiast. Definitely 98% of my love for Subaru, is drivetrain related. Easy to work on, easy to make power out of, Volkswagen like updatability… and 4WD. The last two percent of it is history: Colin McRae, massive bulgy GC8 based WRC cars, BC5’s on 17″ wheels in Tarmac set up…
There’s a really sweet spot in Subaru past, sandwiched between odd 80’s spaceship anime interiors, front wheel locking emergency brakes… and the big fat bubbly cars of magazine savvy goons. OK ok… I only mean half of that negatively…
Or maybe none of it actually… I’d take anything right now, as long as it wasn’t broken in a barn.
I want my own BC.
