Eighties ugliness? Maybe… but isn’t this what every five year old wants? Crazy angular line, pointy nose, pop-up headlights, weird vents and intakes. Check out the green house. This is a space ship. If you don’t recognize it, you don’t play enough video games: it’s the DOME ZERO.
I once saw a set of ZERO wheels on yahoo auctions. I didn’t know what they were at the time… but I thought they were awesome. Woulda bought them if I had realized that a wildly staggered set up could actually be useful.
But this post is a result of DOME’s recent decision to withdraw from Le Mans for financial reasons… a pretty sad thing given that they have been helping privateers run against the big boys since 1978. You may not know it (I personally didn’t know the details), but they have also been very involved in Japanese touring cars, including some very well known Toyota’s. Thankfully the company is not closing entirely, and will hopefully be back into LMP’s in the future.
When I was about 7years old, I had one of these as a die cast “pull back wind up” toy. Green. Looked great. Fantasized about it as a kid for sure.
