It’s still a 4A-GE but twice at auto-x on the weekend, supposed Showa Toyota enthusiasts were left confused. “S” “L”?? What engine is that??
As SL-OW as it still is, it’s gotten a whole lot better than it was a few months ago. I’m supposed to be wrenching the BC6, but the AE86 is so easy and enticing. I’ve basically been swapping parts around looking for better times via stopwatch. I’m now using a different O2 sensor and have advanced the ignition timing all the way to 20 degrees BTDC, in addition to using smaller injectors and a kouki ECU as mentioned previously.
Cam timing is the next thing I’ll play with… and if I sell some junk, I’d like to get wide-band and stand alone.
