Yearly Archives: 2004

Ryan sliding turn 3 at RCMO The CSCC put together a post season solo event today, and though the 86 is stashed away, we did manage to get the Soarer out. We got together Thursday night to go over a few things, and drop the car down to track height. It can go really low. [...]

Running the GZ20 on the Road Course

It snowed this weekend. Somehow, amongst the business of tests and papers I found the time to at least get the 86 under a roof. I have this enormous urge to start ripping it apart. I want to see it in a million pieces… stripped naked… (whoa what’s going on). That fantasy will have to wait I suppose. I got […]

Running angle through the slalomn [...]amongst all this I took the 86 out one more time yesterday to a surprise solo event at Race City Speedway. I really only have a pair of r-compounds left, so I ran on my dead drift wheels and tires. Very loose set up. Of the twenty some cars out, I got dusted by an S2k, STi, and 911 not too disappointing. Entering turn 6 in fourth gear, braking late, downshifting and turning in... this was real fun. I guess what it comes down to is that I just love driving, and I'll do whatever I can. It was definitely nice to have a clock again, and to have some big boys remind me of a great challenge [...]

Sept. 30 marked the last of the beyond drift events this year. Ten cars turned out, including a couple of RHD S13’s from Edmonton. The course was a bunch of challenging […]

Winter Plans 2004

Picked up the GZ20 Toyota Soarer on Saturday from Christian at ImportConcern. Look for a description on a project page soon. Still have to clear the red tape to get the the car inspected for Out-Of-Province but I am hopeful that I will have it done this week. So far, all we’ve noticed is that the car wasn’t sitting level […]
