ハチロク戻って来ました! 8

The excitement of my post has been ruined by the horrendous picture quality of our new SONY Camcorder, recently purchased to replace our stolen JVC.  The JVC kicked ass.  The Sony goes back to the store.

Shruken

I was pretty stoked though.  Thunder and lightning actually pulled me out of bed at 6am and lured me to the barn where I could listen to rain hammer down on the tin roof.  And… where I could observe my new car, also my old car waiting patiently for a good drive. It’s really so sweet that it’s back.  I deliberated a fair bit about the expense.  You know I’m trying to be a mature and responsible adult now… but now having done it, the hole in my wallet is nothing compared to the peace and contentment in my heart.  Oh yeah!

I have to give huge props to Paul for loving her in my absence.  Paul is a major hero in more ways than one.  I’d post a picture of Paul’s main car… but frankly it would totally swipe my glory… and I want this to be my moment.  Paul has a Mango.  It’s pretty famous.  And thankfully he loves it more than he loves my AE86… or he may never have sold it back to me.

Changes are a few.  An AW11 rack, some suspension tweakings that are probably more to Paul’s tastes than mine, and… a small port engine with some goodies.  Word.

Short term plans are simple.  Long term plans are simple.  Drive it… Love it.  Live an AE86 life… and pass it down to someone else in twenty years.  I won’t sell this car again.  Maybe not even if we relocate to Japan.  私のハチロクです。

PS.  This post bumped the last wheeling post off my front page.  If I never go wheeling again… I’ll be OK.  This is definitely the real ME.
PPS. If all Father’s days are like this… Bring it.

I seriously SERIOUSLY, did not anticipate this. As a result, I can’t even begin to express how surprised and happy I am to hear this. Thumbs up!

congrats! good to have you back Q. good timing too, tis the season. I’ve been pretty much completely out of the car scene lately, EP3 has been providing satisfying daily drive, was debating selling my 86 …but since it’s pretty much all done, all I had to do was blow the dust off it and go for a spin to realize I too am never selling, just not worth it… I’ll drive it til it get’s written off or I’m too old to fix it or afford to pay someone else to fix it.
