This car life, has never really been about people to me.  It’s true that friends have been made a long the way… but I’ve probably made as many enemies as I have real friends.  Meh. Having owned a number of different models of cars though… I can say with truth that the AE86 community is best.  I know that I […]

Happy August Sixth

Tough Times... all the money is gone. WTF. I guess I'm waiting on a shipment of goodies from Japan to get me started again, but in the mean time, there isn't much going on. Masaharu told me I had to wait until after 8月6日 though before he would send my stuff... I'm hoping that means he'll have some special swag to throw in the boxes. It's a long wait though...

Andrew and I debate over it frequently… or rather… we discuss it frequently: Why old cars are better than new cars. New cars are better in so many ways… but there is just something about older cars that has sucked us both in. The truck I spend most of my time in now days, is an 09 Dakota. Great Drivetrain. […]

Wide View

First, I’m not doing things the way you do.  Second, the zenkei red interior is about the best thing ever.  Third, I’m tall and that sucks. Maybe I just get stoked about taking things apart, or 18th century looking contraptions… but this stripped down seat is wicked hot.  It definitely reminds me of some of my gandpa’s old farm machinery […]

ターミネーターシート

four-stroke-performance-tunI feel pretty good about footwork, but when it comes to drivetrain stuff... I'll admit I'm pretty stupid. I've never really played too much with making power, and what I do know, is just what I've absorbed over the past 12 years on the Internet. I always thought that books would die in the next few years... especially non-fiction books... but I may have been wrong to think that. There's just something about complete information from one source, without the distractions of pornographic advertisements and email alerts. I found "Four-Stroke Peformance Tuning" by A. Graham Bell in the back seat of Andrew's BC6 and stole it for a read. I recommend. It's basically given me a whole new outlook on making horsepower. It doesn't seem as easy as it used to... but somehow it's all less intimidating and more approachable than before. I have long term plans for my AE86 now... and they're nothing crazy. But neither am I... nor will be my ハチロク。

Education – Four Stroke Performance Tuning

Schumacher in his primeI've never been a fan of F1. How could I be really? There is just something about F1 that alienates me as an earnest driving enthusiast. I've driven lots of door slammers in auto-x situations... and as different as many of them have been, the experience that they have all offered has been at least on some level comparable to my every day drive to work. Only two or three times have I been behind the wheel of an open wheel car... and as interesting and novel as the idea of a REAL RACE CAR is... I hated the experience. I like slow cars. And that's why... I've never really been a fan of F1. At no point when watching an F1 race, can I picture myself behind the wheel. I can't imagine what that speed feels like... and I do really even care to try [...]
