A Clone 2

GDAI’m rocking this.  It’s totally stock, and actually a blast.  To date, I think the two best dailies I’ve ever had were my RNN14 Pulsar and my NCP12 Echo.  These are two extremely different cars, but what they do share is a pretty upright driving position and oodles of headroom.  The WRX gives that too… and combines a good chunk of the Pulsar’s performance with a bit of the non-descriptiveness the Echo had.  It’s quite fun.  I’ve noted after a couple days of ownership that there are almost no other stock WRX’s out there.   The Subaru aftermarket and following does a good job of mimicking that of Honda circa 2000.  I probably won’t involve myself in much of it though… getting low and wide won’t really add any fun, practicality or purpose.

It would enable me to hard park and make you think I was a winner again.  Instead, maybe I’ll go drive it.  Maybe kill some DC2’s at Auto-x… or some Celica’s on the ice (what a fantastic challenge that will be ha!).

On a negative note… I’m not really sure about most Subaru owners.  Why do they all have Nurburgring stickers on their cars?  I’m sure you really only drive to work and back everyday, or maybe up and down Old Banff Coach on your way home from the pub on Saturday mornings.  Is this a symbol of your dreams? An assurement that your four door sedan really is a sports car?

I opened the hood to check a few basic things and cursed and swore for 10 minutes afterwards.  Maintaining my sanity will necessitate doing nothing other than changing fluids and driving.  That will be fine, because someone already told me the Bugeye is “old enough to be vintage now.”  I was offended, but at least that offers further justification of what I’m doing here: vintage cars should be left alone and unmodified.

Ha.

Aptly titled “A Clone” because all WRXs out there looks almost exactly alike because they’re all blue :p I guess there’s not much colour choices when it comes to used cars, eh 😉

On a serious note… this is possibly the type of car that best suits your needs as a family man who wants to do some autocross/rallycross/ice dice on the side. So a good buy! :insertthumbsupemoticonhere:

“upright driving position and oodles of headroom”
Even with a Chris Bosh frame!?! That’s great!
