As you can tell… wordpress is bonking in IE8 with some unproportional resizing. Meh. Of all the things on this website that bug me, that is not high on the list.
My new idealizations will bore most of you… I think this picture was my desktop background for like 2 years from 99 to 01. The perfect AE86 used to be that of a purposeful light tune. Somehow… somewhere… sometime… that was lost on me. I’m pretty sure it’s back though… recent driving has just re-awakened the real spirit of AE86 in me. Or at least… the real spirit of vintage AE86.
what would excite me, is if you would come out and drive with us!!!!

… would be fun. Work permiting I’ll be out to practice… but Sunday morning auto-x seems more likely.
Greyeagle?
I think I’m going saturday. aug 8
I got commitments on Saturday, but apparently there is an event on the 9th too… which I’m going to try and swing.
Yeah! I can’t wait to see Paul on autox. I’m sure he’ll show a lot of Autox weenies (like me) what car control is all about. Just don’t go all out I guess and get kicked out.
Paul’s that rare breed of auto enthusiast that likes and is willing to try anything. And to think that Q, that used to be you! Where is that now? Be there for both days. That’d be cool.

So awesome!
That’s why in a correspondence, I told someone this:

I believe in crossing over. I believe in being versatile. I believe in being a renaissance racer (I coined that! That’s my word!) I mean, seriously! Wasn’t the Dorikin a highly respected racer? As well, all the best motoring drivers – Orido, Taniguchi, and Akira – can pull a fast lap as much as they can pull a drift run? I guess the reason I hate people who thrash talk other forms of motorsport is because I hear it from people who actually fail and suck.
“Drifting” as we know it today really is just an exaggeration of that tried and true racing style. “Racers” who say drifting is a waste, probably haven’t driven at and beyond the limit of adhesion. “Drifters” who say time trial racers don’t know how to drift, haven’t seen how much a good driver really slides. Heck, they probably haven’t even tried it. They just jumped the wagon because drifting was the “in” thing, adopted its rebellious and deviant streak without question and without having tried other forms of motorsport.

Where is that now? Lost in a pile of diapers.
It would be cool to be there for both days. Somedays it’s not so cool being responsible for more than just yourself. I’m over it for the most part though. Family life has it’s own rewards.
I’ll be back to myself in like… never… but I have dreams that someone else will fill in where I left off.
