MegaSquirt 1

MS2I’ve been here before… and failed.  The problem with MegaSquirt, is that there is too much out there.  For some that’s a good thing, but from a consumers perspective, it is not.  I’m a consumer.  I gotta say… I question the necessity of stand alone.  There are a number of guys who have had great success tricking the stock ECU.  That certainly seems like the simplest way to get the result I want.  It’s true that I just hurt my engine, but I blame my set up rather than my engine control.

That’s not to say that there are no advantages with stand alone, but rather that I’m not sure all the effort and expense is worth it… especially in the case of MegaSquirt where it seems that there are enough distinct versions and ways of setting those versions up, that I am all alone despite thousands of people who seem to use it with success.  Maybe I’m not educated enough yet.  I have been here before already though…

100% worth it. They exist for a reason. Even if you can trick the ecu to give you correct AFRs the timing is going to be way off for boost. AFRs mean nothing without proper timing.
Just got Power FC for the SR yesterday and I’m so happy.
I’ve had success with MS before on a couple setups.

There is a lot to learn with ms, but I know a really cool guy who has a ms with edis and everything. It’s been run before and it’s plug and play, even has an engine harness. I want $600 for it.
