Past Projects

In the fall of 2001 Ryan and I started assembling and modifying cars together.  All started in different forms, some from scratch, others from near full build requiring only tweaking and tuning.  Nevertheless, all of these cars have been ours… we have a tendency to go through a lot:  lots that never even made mention here, and some that I spent hours writing and thinking about.  It is some form of A.D.D…. really.  In the first few years after we teamed up, neither of us managed to make it through a single season with one car.  They came and went. Mostly it was because we liked to dream, but it was also partly because there was always someone willing to buy.  Cash just looks so good.

Note: These charts are for fun.  Don’t confuse them for us being hard core and bad ass.  Check it out.

Finally a shot with some motion! I have now smashed PAX at two practice events, but with only one real event under my belt, I have yet to find that overall win that I’m looking for. It was supposed to be easy, with this car and it’s “cheater springs”. I guess I’m not the conquering hero I thought I was. […]

On Teasing and Winning

One auto-x down… kind of. The event was actually a practice event with the SASC at Ft. MacLeod last Saturday. The actual competition was on Sunday, but other obligations forced me to miss that. So how was the car? My first runs were about as uncomfortable as any runs I have ever taken. I chalk that up largely to a […]

Real Break In

My new shoes are boring and grey, but somehow I like them. If no one ever noticed my car that would make me happy. Any attention is bad attention. If you think my car looks hotter than ever though, despite the boring wheels, you’d be right. It is. As a result of a recent revision to SCCA regulations, the FRS […]

Back in grey

Flaps aren’t just for mud, but they aren’t just for winter either. And they certainly aren’t just for the look. Even an STI that remains gridlocked on Calgary pavement for it’s entire life will still throw slush/gravel/salt up onto the body for about 9 months a year… The first generation Legacy came with mudflaps from the factory. But the seam […]

Shatter Proof

No joke… for the first time today I told someone how “good” my Dodge truck was. Moments later it died and wouldn’t re-start. The truck is now scattered across my yard… with my shop too small to both house it, and at the same time grant access to, and space to maneuver very large and separated components there are no […]

Lying Up

Yes this car is still around. It’s still awesome… but as the roof rack suggests, Andrew has made it his own. Gone is the low down suspension and the home made aero… but it still has a trailer hitch on the shift lever, two limited slip differentials… and a third differential that isn’t. I got to spend some time with […]
