Q's New Era Hachiroku Ryan's SW11

Past Projects

In the fall of 2001 Ryan and I started assembling and modifying cars together.  All started in different forms, some from scratch, others from near full build requiring only tweaking and tuning.  Nevertheless, all of these cars have been ours… we have a tendency to go through a lot:  lots that never even made mention here, and some that I spent hours writing and thinking about.  It is some form of A.D.D…. really.  In the first few years after we teamed up, neither of us managed to make it through a single season with one car.  They came and went. Mostly it was because we liked to dream, but it was also partly because there was always someone willing to buy.  Cash just looks so good.

Note: These charts are for fun.  Don’t confuse them for us being hard core and bad ass.  Check it out.

Ryan is on a ten day Land Cruiser run in Moab right now. He has yet to send me a picture of his FZJ80 dwarfing the hoodoo’s but… looks like there is some other cool stuff there. This guy seems pretty ballsy is his mild 40.

Life with AE86 is full of company and motivation. ST185 is a little boring and uninspired. If there was snow on the ground 365 days a year it would be no contest, but in summer there isn’t much to do except appreciate 3SGTE output and a quiet/solid chassis. AE86 could keep me satisfied all winter long with an endless supply […]

Oh look who’s back. Although it never actually left anywhere except my mind. After twice taking deposits from individuals who’s eyes were bigger than their wallets I am vowing to change how I use deposits and selling cars forever. Deposits are for people who come to look at cars on Sunday evening when the banks are closed. Deposits are not […]

This can only mean one thing… and it’s not just the AE86. Both cars are gone. WTF is going on? A. My work makes me feel like a man. B. Two little girls are really nice to come home to. C. It’s almost mosquito season. D. Japan was really really awesome. WTF is going on? I miss the AE86 horribly. […]

My ST185 has gone the way of Migs.  I.E. LEGENDARY.  The real question is… which came first: Hyper Rev Magazine or Migs AE86?  There sure as hell aren’t any Monroes in my AE86 magazines. Of all the struts that used to be available for ST185, it seems that only two are currently available.  The first is the “KYB New SR […]

I have a set of used KYB New SR Special and Espelir Super low down springs on my AE102 BEAMS wagon and they are blown. I can’t tell you how many km’s are on them as I bought the set from the same seller on Yahoo but I read they were supposed to provide better damping than GR-2’s so I figure it couldn’t hurt! Sorry, that wasn’t helpful! LOL

Note: Monroe failed. What I ordered was supposed to be for a 91 All-Trac, but they are way to long, and the holes on the ears are way further apart then they should be. I should have gone with the KYB’s, since freight to return the Monroe’s is more than they are worth. And… now I’m going with OEM Toyota ones for more than what the KYB’s cost, just because they are available now. Shit. America you failed me again.
