Q's New Era Hachiroku Ryan's SW11

Past Projects

In the fall of 2001 Ryan and I started assembling and modifying cars together.  All started in different forms, some from scratch, others from near full build requiring only tweaking and tuning.  Nevertheless, all of these cars have been ours… we have a tendency to go through a lot:  lots that never even made mention here, and some that I spent hours writing and thinking about.  It is some form of A.D.D…. really.  In the first few years after we teamed up, neither of us managed to make it through a single season with one car.  They came and went. Mostly it was because we liked to dream, but it was also partly because there was always someone willing to buy.  Cash just looks so good.

Note: These charts are for fun.  Don’t confuse them for us being hard core and bad ass.  Check it out.

This is a tease.  I finally made it to RallyX.  Event #1 was cancelled due to 140km/h winds.  Event #2 came and went while I was at home loading up tools and doing a mechanical once over… but I wasn’t going to let anything keep me from #3.  Andrew came out as well, and his story is probably infinitely more […]

I Got Your Camera

This is why I bought what I did.  Welcome to winter.  It actually feels better on a snow covered highway than it does on bare asphault. Updates? I’ve got a line on some 50mm inverted 8.5″ travel WRC struts that are BRAND NEW old stock.  A little scarey, but they are CHEAP.  Thank you Japan.  I’ll have to build some […]

Oh Yeah

Done work.  Off to Japan in a few days to see the family.  Getting bored around the house, and going for long drives.  Figuring out my boost controller and understanding that this might actually be a car I want to keep.  That’s a surprise because it’s really not my style: it’s big, it has a stereo, it’s turbocharged and while […]

I Spend Money I Don’t Make It

The thought and one point was that I would be responsible and trade my boroi shakotan AE86 for something more practical. It’s been advertised for the past two months… but I’m finally pulling my ads. Maybe financial pressures will force me to renew them in the spring, but for now the car is going under covers. I’ve had lots of […]

Not Gone… Or Forgotten

Awww.  I guess I under estimated flying gravel at -25 degrees.  The new ones will have to be rubber… although finding big sheets of rubber appears difficult.

I recently discovered a boost leak on my car, and when I fixed it I was overboosting like crazy! The EVC6 is pretty intuitive, but… I was still having a hard time limiting boost to my desired levels. This official manual was actually pretty hard to track down. If you are in a situation similar to mine check the link […]
