Q's New Era Hachiroku Ryan's SW11

Past Projects

In the fall of 2001 Ryan and I started assembling and modifying cars together.  All started in different forms, some from scratch, others from near full build requiring only tweaking and tuning.  Nevertheless, all of these cars have been ours… we have a tendency to go through a lot:  lots that never even made mention here, and some that I spent hours writing and thinking about.  It is some form of A.D.D…. really.  In the first few years after we teamed up, neither of us managed to make it through a single season with one car.  They came and went. Mostly it was because we liked to dream, but it was also partly because there was always someone willing to buy.  Cash just looks so good.

Note: These charts are for fun.  Don’t confuse them for us being hard core and bad ass.  Check it out.

Ha. I’m here for a moment. Nice weather got me out to the barn for a few minutes this week. Nothings happening yet though… except a realization that I don’t have the time I thought I did. The turbo is not going to happen… at least not in the next few months. Recent happenings in the racing world, do however […]

I gave some of you the impression that I’d found an old HKS turbo kit.  That is not the case.  I’m building from scratch, but with the hope of creating something similar to what HKS had produced.  Anything can be done with money of course… I’m trying to do this with a very limited budget.  To this point, I’ve consistently […]

I’m pretty stoked about how this turned out.  If it drives like crap… at least it’s not an eyesore.  Some comments. 1.  Note that the master cylinder is not centered on my plate.  I moved it up as high as I could without modifying the firewall.  This allowed me to get a little more leverage at at the pedal, and […]

STOP!

If you’ve been here for ten years you know a little bit about my history.  It’s been about FOUR MONTHS since I proclaimed NA forever, and spoke with disdain of turbocharger responsiveness and engine bay clutter.  What changes in my mind?  Well… nothing actually.  I just resign myself to reality once and a while.  I don’t have 15k for a […]

Third Time is the Charm?

I lied about it from time to time throughout last season… I’m not even sure I told you guys the truth here?  I’ve been running 5.5 degrees negative camber… and not really because I wanted it.  It’s true that I am a big fan of camber thrust, and narrow balloon tires can take a lot of negative camber, but 5.5 […]

This IS… the typical pose.  I love how my car sits in the barn.  And now it’s actually time to start putting it together.  The first step is complete.  The red engine bay is gone.  It seemed absurd at times, that I was doing all this work just to get rid of the red.  It was worth it.  Flat back […]

That looks good, so does this mean you are going to the extream racecar side, as opposed to the stock nostalgia side?
