Q's New Era Hachiroku Ryan's SW11

Past Projects

In the fall of 2001 Ryan and I started assembling and modifying cars together.  All started in different forms, some from scratch, others from near full build requiring only tweaking and tuning.  Nevertheless, all of these cars have been ours… we have a tendency to go through a lot:  lots that never even made mention here, and some that I spent hours writing and thinking about.  It is some form of A.D.D…. really.  In the first few years after we teamed up, neither of us managed to make it through a single season with one car.  They came and went. Mostly it was because we liked to dream, but it was also partly because there was always someone willing to buy.  Cash just looks so good.

Note: These charts are for fun.  Don’t confuse them for us being hard core and bad ass.  Check it out.

There has been little progress. The car remains in the exact position it was as of our last entry. The GZE sits up on a stand awaiting assembly… it’s all quite… bad. How many months do we have left? When will it get soo cold that our propane heater will accomplish nothing and make QuickR Garage inhabitable? Will we ever […]

Mechanical Progress – Nil

The coupe is underway and… It’s October! And… being more experienced now, than I was three years ago, I can look at our long list of things to do, and realize that even though we have five months to get everything together, it’ll be awfully tight. Already I’m thinking about cutting down the work load by delaying a couple things […]

Turbo Works

It’s been way to long since anything has been written here. Know that I’ve tried on numerous occasions, but with so much going on, it seems hard to order my thoughts and write something that has structure, and is even somewhat readable. Ryan took the coupe up to the final CSCC auto-x last weekend. He placed 5th overall, and was […]

2005 Season End

I attending the last Solo 2 event for the Calgary Sports Car Club this past weekend. Our friend Ambrose, the Solo Director this year, was away competing at the SCCA Solo 2 Nationals in Topeka Kansas and he had asked for my help to design and setup this final course in his absence. This was the main reason I attended […]

Ryan’s thoughts on the underpowered AE86

Ryan and I spent the whole day yesterday doing something on our new black hatch that should have taken only an hour or two. This leaves me absolutely dumbfounded about how there are so many 86 enthusiasts. Maybe all 86’s can still be fun to drive, but some of them are so well aged now that wrenching them can be […]

Grinding

Soarer is now gone. I had an good offer over a month ago that eventually fell through. That had got me weighing the pros and cons of keeping the car and I had come to the decision that selling made the most sense at this time. I officially put the car for sale and it’s gone to another Toyota nut […]
